Florida Lawmakers Give "Thumbs Up" to Casino Bill

The Florida Senate made the first move of passing a SB710 "Resort & Casino Bill" in the Senate Regulated Industries Committee.  This bill will allow for the regulation and creation of casino/resorts.  Experts project that it will also create over 100k jobs for South Florida.  Opponents to the bill are Disney, the Seminole Indians and special interest groups that want to control tourism or keep unregulated gambling to the Indian lands.  The tea party supports the current bill.  Specifically, Everett Wilkinson, chair of South Florida Tea Party (the largest tea party in Florida) supports the Genting Resort Casino in Miami Herald.
